My own experience with the Internet

The following part of the project is about the students’ experience with the Internet. There was no interference into the texts and they are not looked through as this could have changed the message to be conveyed. The reports are left anonymous so that everybody could speak her or his mind freely. Thanks for all those who wrote quite sincere and honest.
My first contact with the world wide web was with twelve years.
A friend explained me how the Internet works. So he showed me how to write with friends in chat rooms and other forums. “You can use the Internet to keep in touch with your friends”, he told me. I could use instant messangers or e-mail programs to write with them without paying money – except the monthly dues. But all in all it would be cheaper than phoning them all the time. So my first thought was that the Internet is a smasher and I will definitely use it.
But I mostly use the Internet to get specific information about a special topic for school. Sometimes the books we use in school or worksheet do not give pupils all the information they need, for example for a presentation. The Internet is a good alternative besides the public library. In my opinion the web is better because it is faster and more multifaceted that the library. But many people have access to the world wide web, so the information you need can be also wrong.
I also heard about chat groups. It is like instant messangers but it is a public server, so you often do not know the people you are chatting with- at least not in real life. In the media you often hear that the Net is an unsafe place and is often used by criminals to endamage other people. That is why I try to visit only serious websites. I also try to chat only with people I know and I am sure that they know me. First I was afraid about surfing the web because I heard about old men who masquerade as younger than they are. Then they write with young girls about “dirty” and sexual things or they pretend to be someone else and write bad things or insult innocent chatters. That is why I try to avoid such public server chat groups. For me it is too unsafe and I rather write with people I personally know.
The Net can also be used to download different content. The most popular files are music files. These can be downloaded in a legal or illegal way. You can pay for those or you can avoid this by using illegal websites or downloading-programs. Me personally do not download something on the internet because the file can include a virus-program or a trojan or something else which can endamage my personal computer. I also would never do online banking. I think it is too unsafe. There can be always someone who can gain access to the system of the bank. So he or she would have much information about my bank account like my bank account number.
All in all I can say that I have made a lot of experience with the Internet in a good and in a bad way. The web is a big place with much information and can give you access to useful content. I think that everybody should keep oneself busy with the world wide web to gain own experience. My experience can be called “good” because I think that there are more positives aspects relating to the Internet than negatives. My experiences emphasizes this fact, too.
My first experience in using the internet I made with about 14 years. But my parents made strict rules for using internet. So I did not have many options and I also did not have much interest to use the PC. Later I began to join chat-rooms and talk to other people mainly anonym and without registrations.
Today chats or communities are very secondary and furthermore it is boring and I do not want to waste my time with those things. I know a lot of people who almost can not live without the internet. They create overdone lavish profiles with a lot of idiotic bollocks about themselves. If you gallop through those profiles you piss oneself laughing. Most of the things you read there stretch the truth hugely. In reality this individuals are uptight psychic labile loners who are not able to find connections in the reality.
Of course this might sound hard-worded but it is up to that what I experienced myself. There are a lot of people who had no private life and escape in to internet games or chats or something else. Such often friends of mine began to play online games and disregarded everything else, even lost their jobs or cancelled their studies because of a stupid game.Another serious thing is that some of my acquaintances are too improvident by publishing their personal dates on profiles or furthermore they publish a lot of waste that makes a bad idea of those persons.
When I am googleling for my own name, I am also very upset about myself to have published once too much of my particulars. Now it is not possible to remove them again. So, my advice for everyone: think about possible consequences before publishing something.
I use the internet mostly to read my e-mails. But most I watch videos on YouTube I get recommended by friends. If I’m in the internet, I look mostly at the page of wkw and facebook. I can chat with friends on these sites and perhaps can found new friendships. The internet has both advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages:
- You will be informed about news every day
- You can get information on certain things
- You can view videos (formerly with the TV set)
- You can view images (formerly only with camera)
- You can play games (in front of console)
Disadvantages:
- You may be liable to prosecution if you are downloading something
- You never know where one catches a virus
- Children meet with new things for they are not old enough
In my opinion you should not provide many details about themselves into the internet as they can be abused. The internet offers a huge selection of options to inquire about addresses, phone numbers for example. In today’s time, most internet users to a flat rate does not cost much and is mostly a phone flat free here.
I use the internet to get information to topics that I needed, because it is faster than to show into a library or on the lexicon.
In my free time I show on the pages in the internet, when I have a game, where I have and to what time I have it, because there are many changes in the season. It is great to have the internet, because I must not write a letter and must send it to the post, I can do it with my e- mail account. The biggest advantage is, that is free you must not pay for this. The disadvantage is, that you must give your address, name and so on when you want to registries.
On the internet you can by ticket for important games without driving to the ticket shops. When you are to late the best places are sold and you didn’t see so good. With the internet you can do this when the sale is open and you must not drive to get tickets.
If you must say people important information you can do it by communities e.g. wer- kennt- wen or same one else and you didn’t call this people. Via internet you can send files to other people without many work, because the without the internet you must give the CD, DVD and other medias from people to people and now you can do this via internet.
To play games on the internet, I find boring because you didn’t know with which persons you play. The most persons have nicknames on the internet and didn’t say there right names.
Online banking is difficult because you must give your bank data and hacker and other pests can find out this data and than they can plunder the account.
On the internet you can get many think very cheap by internet shops as ebay or so on. This is good but you can not see what you by and so you can get thinks with a worse quality with high prices.
On the internet you must look very often what you click on, what you by, where you make you a account and what are done on the internet.
I am very careful what I do in the internet and what I provide into the network.
On the internet you can do more thinks as download from pictures, music and programs but you must be carefully with this thinks because this thinks can be bad follows for the user.
The experience in the internet can be positive and negative. The negative site is firstly the mobbing. A lot of people who have no job are in the space and are mobbing the little kids in the chat room and per e mail. The first time, I was in the World Wide Web I get an e mail which was in the spam folder and I clicked on it. I was surprised because I was reading: ‘Hey you your mother is a bitch ‘and something like that. I deleted the spam directly and got never ever any email like that. I was happy, because maybe the sender was caught, and was a criminal bully.
I am a person who is at facebook and schuelerVZ . Every time I log in, there stand: ‘ dein letzter log in war am ‘……’ . I every time wondered, because I ever log out, when I shut down my computer. But maybe, there is a person or a virus, which know my password and log every time in, when I log out.
The internet got positive sites too. But they are a little bit less as negative sites. In the internet can you meet your friends and chat with them. But you have to be carefully because you know; there are a lot of bully’s.
So. If you are in the internet you can visit a lot of sites where you can play online games and fight virtual with your partners. This is a another site, because when you are good in a game , then can the fighters be angry and throw with words which you don’t want to hear.
You can see, the Wikipedia or Google are very often clicked on, because the children or are the teenagers often look for information to do a presentation for the school. This is the two biggest information sites, to do homework too. The Google is also good for English homework, Spanish homework or something like that , because there is a translator which you can type the German words in , and he translate the words , but not in the right grammar . This app is better use for couple of words not for whole sentences.
Now I tell you something about a virus. A virus is a bad thing , because everyone can sent you an email where is a virus in. one day I chatted in the ICQ ( is a chat program which you can download in the internet ) and I got send a picture or an link, which I clicked on. Then was opening a window, where stands:’ hi I am a virus, your computer is shutting down in 3 … 2… 1… peeeeep.’ And my screen was at first black, then blue and then my computer was shut down.
So I think, the internet is a very good to make experience with bad and good sites. Everyone have to check out the World Wide Web, because it is a little bit world history, to grow up with this. But you have to install an anti virus program, which save your computer.
When I got my first computer it took a while till I got a connection to the internet. The first thing I did in the internet was to download some programs like Icq and some other useful things you use to communicate in the internet.
But most of all I was interested on gaming in the internet, when I started gaming in the internet it was a whole new world for me and I liked it.
The first game I played was “Silkroad” it’s a MMORPG, my favorite art of games. This sort of games I am playing all the time they changed with the time but now I am still playing the same game since 3 years.
Of course I use the internet many other things. It is very useful to get information for school and do some research. Sometimes I use it to visit forums, I like them really, because I can discuss with other people about different topics I am interested in.
I also use the internet to get new music and watching films, I also can enjoy reading the news and talking with friends or people I meet in the endless wide of the space in the internet.
There many traps in the internet and I take always care about that I avoid this, because of that I installed some programs to prevent negative consequences.
In my opinion there is even a lot of stuff which is very needless. For example you visit a page and there is opening a window for each klick I do on this page that’s really bugging. It is also impeded that other people spent a lot of time to hack the account or to get some serious information about other people, I realized that when I got a message in my game I should visit a page than I will receive a gift, but it was very obvious that the intension of this people were to get my account-information. Luckily I looked through this trick, but maybe not everybody did that.
So all in all I think the internet is very useful but you have to take care about what pages you visit and you are doing there.
My own experience with the internet are different someone are good and some bad. I use some social networks but I do not like them they have some risks for example when your post there your e-mail than cam some persons and spam your with really stupid thinks. And your can go lost in the internet. I was lost in the internet and online games specially World of Warcraft. I cam to this game about a friend he is go lost in the internet to for a long time longer then I. The game World of Warcraft is a great game but it is an easy way to get lost in the internet. World of Warcraft are not the only way to get lost in the internet all games there you play in the internet with other persons are a way to get lost in the internet.
But the internet is not only bad your have many positive things in the internet for example e-mail it is a really useful tool in the internet it makes the communication with persons your see not often easier specially for me the communication with my drum teacher.
ICQ is a nice program to your can there writhe with friends what is go on at the weekend or make some homework together when the persons live on different places.
Youtube is a good website when your will listen to music but your do not have the CD or your will look how good the CD is.
Shopping in the internet is a nice thing to for persons who do not like to go in the city to buy there cloths and shoes for example Amazon there your can buy every thing who need from schoolbooks to videos and tools to make a wood desk.
The internet is useful if you want some information about something. You can google the things you want informations about and you get mostly some useful sites. It is an easy and quick method to get some information. The site I use the most for information is Wikipedia.
I also use the internet for playing games. There are several free games that you can play on the internet. The games make a lot of fun but soon become boring and after a while I don´t like playing them anymore. But you can´t say anything because they are for free.
Surfing is not my kind of wasting my free time. It soon gets boring and often you don´t get what you are looking for. You often find commercial sites and often there are automatically opening commercials. Some commercials you can´t click away It is very annoying.
Sometimes I hate the internet. There are no ideas what to look for and I get bored of it. It also nerves when you got something interesting for example on you-tube and the internet is too slow for the video and you could freak out. And watching a video in small pieces is boring again because you have to wait until it is completely downloaded.
For me the internet must be faster and a little bit more clearly arranged so that you don´t get lost in commercials. Lets sum up: For getting information the internet is O.K. but for amusement it is too boring for me.
My first experiences I made on the internet, was in 2003 by a friend. I just use internet for watching videos. That was a site who calls YouTube. These were music and futbol clips. Then I came on MSN. Where you can chatte with friends and can see through the cam. It was really fascinated for the young girls and boys in the year 2003. In the year 2005,we decided to get internet at home. Since 2005 I already use the internet all day. I use it for 2 hours a day.I use internet mostly for checking up my e-mails or me to read articles about sport. Often I am chatting with my friends by MSN. I think there are advantages and disadvantages to surf on the internet.
One advantage is: you can stay anonymous on a site and show you the detail on a site. You can copy the text from the page. But It is prohibited to download music or videos who are copyrighted. You could get a virus without knowing it. It is difficult to eliminate the virus. If you don’t have an anti virus program, then your PC is in dancer.By Google map where you can show the shortest route or the fastest way to reach the target. That’s the simplest way to make good decision of the route.
Nowadays when I see the youth of that makes them spend much more time on the PC I thought about my children in the future that they will also addictive on PC.
The children will wear glasses all the time, which means that they no longer can see very well. And everything works about the internet. What can I say that internet prices are always less. Because there are more and more internet providers on the market.
If the working people are not looking for have pc knowledge, it s very hard to find work. Therefore, they expect people from the young that they have PC knowledge.
I use the internet for information about topics in the school to find. Mostly I use the Google site to find information. But most of the time I spend on the internet is at Communities. Communities are the most popular sites on the internet. Communities are e.g. wer-kennt-wen.de or Facebook.
Also I am playing free games on the internet. There are many game sites in internet play where you can. I play an internet game called Fiesta. It is really well done and I just can not stop playing ^ ^. You can look at various movies in the internet. Everyone knows the YouTube page ^ ^.
But there are also sites that illegally show movies that are still ongoing in the cinema. But who interested for even 
. There are so many opportunities on the internet, that I can’t name all. So I name you some examples:

There are so many pages, simply visit ^ ^.
At first I use the internet I was 10 Years old and I have my own Internet dress by www.web.de. I was very proud and happy. I have written every they my father at work and he answer I feel very good. Then in my Real school-time I get more friends and we write us 7usually every day. And we don’t phone us we called us by the Internet that was a nice Experience.
I thing with 10 we start to play online games at www.playit.ch. Or we play online games by CS or CSS (later because it is too much blood in the game). We build Teams and we have knifes and guns or someone else. We shoot with guns other player down and run away together to support ourer friends.
Later I get WKW it means to call friends and look who is online. The Internet address is www.wer-kennnt-wen.de .We wrote us information for school or private. For school maybe the homework or to make ourer journals for school. By analysis we make many things to and we can’t remind all things so we show it other person to advance. WKW is a very hopeful address and it is good to teach each other to do every thing that do. In WKW it gives many group of every thing. You can go to many football groups or you can go to many handball groups or you can go to any Singer groups or to any other groups. WKW I have only goods words to say. It gives day I chill in the Internet that means to look any videos by YouTube the videos are maybe funny or any silly person break there legs arms scholders hands or other things on there Build who can to break they. Or I chill by www.kino.to to look any new films or to look any funny fiulms or some else (how I feel me).
Or I look at my website and download any music or to upload any music sometimes I upload films by the Internet. I take only good experience but I now any other person who take negative experience. I hope so that I became no Punischments .I heard by a person who pay more than 300 Euro .Because he download illigel music. I take until now more positive Experience than negative one.
My first contact on the Internet was with chat programs. My class says to me I should download ICQ. I do this and write all days with people from my town and my class. Month later I download other programs to communicate with people e.g. SchülerVZ, Wie-Ich, wer-kennt-wen.
I like to communicate with friends on chat programs. I can get contact with people who I not see every day. Many friends from me live in other countries. I find a chat program as ICQ or MSN is a good invention.
And I like to download music and movies. I have bought an account for rapid share. This account is going for a half year, when this half year is finish you can buy the next account. Every day I have a assume limitation to download things you can download music, movie, video, games and more.
Mostly I download on the side Movie-Blog.org. . Before I download a movie I look on YouTube or other pages the trailer when I like this short clipping I download the film on Movie-Blog.
I also use the Internet for school. If I need information’s for a topic I go on the internet and look. Or when I want to know other things I look on the Internet too. Mostly I find what I’m looking for.
But I think there is even lot stuff on the Internet which is very needless. All people can release data or pages. And often stands on pages wrong things. Anybody can get false information’s and I find this is not the appreciation from the World Wide Web.
All in all is the Internet a good invention. It is very multifunctional.
A lot of people employ the Internet for work, other for school or just for fun.
The first time, I was on the internet, it was very strange for me. I did not know, on which site I have to go, to get the information I want to have. And when I reached the correct site, it was difficult to distinguish, which information are right and which information are rubbish. So it is always better to collate the texts on the internet with a book and assemble both information to a perfect text.
After a certain Time, I discovered new sites, like “Schüler VZ”, “Facebook” and other chat rooms. So my interest on the internet grew up very quick. So I used it, to do homework for the next day, with the members of my class together. This was much easier and quicker.
To play Tetris on the Internet was my next passion. In comparison to buy the game, it costs nothing and you could challenge your friends, to beat your score. In the 7th grade I had to use the Internet, to send our Teacher the Homework, at that time I found it very difficult to send an e-mail with attachment and needed only to type an e-mail several minutes.
Not long ago, my friend did a very bad experience on the internet, he watched a movie on an illegal site and the uploader of this film integrated a virus, so his system software was deleted. Since then, he watches films only on tv and in the cinema. His brother get catched, because he downloaded illegal music, so internet is not only helpful, it offers a chance of illegally activities.
At first, I go to the internet and go on some social sites like wkw…for example to contact my friends and look what they do. My experience with wkw is really good because you forgot no birthdates from your friends and you have always contact with they.
Often I use icq to contact my friends an chat with they. Then I go on YouTube to watch some new music-, sport videos. My experience with youtube is really good to because there are many cool and funny videos about everything you want.
When I need information’s for school ore something I go to Wikipedia and search for this, Wikipedia are really useful because you can search for everything you want to know.
Sometimes I am really bored, and then I go on some game-sites ore play some computer games, that games are a good pastime, between this I check my e-mails and look on the newsletter to know what is new.
When I go out then I go on the deutsche bahn site to look when my bus ore train is coming and when they get to the place were I want.
In the background of this all I download some music ore some computer games my experience with downloads are good to because you economise a lot of money but that have bat consequences when the police is catching you!!
My first experience with the web was in 2004 when I was 13, my family had a old Pc witch was very slow but it was fantastic. I mean you can chat with the whole world and everyone with you. You can play games and watch films and videos.
The first bad experience was 4 years ago in 2006. Many of my friends began to play WOW (World of Warkraft), some of them are addicted now and spend all of there time to this game. They lose there friends and family every day more and more. There social life is becoming just digital and they squander money for this game. It began all with a experiment account they had say ‘’ It’s just a experiment I don’t like this game’’ but when the free time was over they bought more time to play and so on. Some of them stopped even to go to school or work .Now I don’t even see some of them and my contact is broken. Some of them have now there whole life in the web and show there life to the world. They don’t might that normal people laught of them because of there ‘’pages’’ and picture. It’ really sad cause I lost many of good friends.
So I come to the decision that the web is might to be comfortable but the real life is better.
In my Circle of Friends are many people who have internet. One friend from me has a dark skin. She is in wer kennt wen that’s a site in the internet. You can link with somebody and my friend with the dark skin was with a boy link. The boy was at first very nice , but then he had mobbed my friend about her colour. And as she blocked him he got very angry and threatened she with the telephone. When we were ( my friends ) together in the city, there have we seen him and he have beat my friend with the dark skin. My friends and I shocked and have gone in between. I think that behavior from this guy was very terrible because we don’t live in the 60′ . I think this boy has borderline. He have a problem with his own.
A other friend of mine is very shy and very sensitive. He chat with a girl in MSN that’s a messenger. When she wanted to meet up, then was he very happy. But the girl is not come she called him off 5 minute befor they met. He was very sad, but in the evening she has apologized. He has forgiven her . 2 Weeks later they would like to meet , but she issn’t come. The next day he see the girl as she walked hand in hand with a other boy.
My cousin is only 12 years old and she is in wer kennt wen too. She chat with other people but only people that she know who they are. Someday she was online and chat with her dad, but then came a message from a foreign man he was 45 years old. He ask she very funny thinks. I said to my cousin that she should block him. Because what going around in the head from this man when they send a message to a young girl? I think he was or is pedophile !!
I use the Internet really often and I can not imagine how to live without it. There are much more good experiences than bad ones. I start with the good ones.
The internet is irreplaceable for getting information. Web search engines are extremely useful to get information very fast. This is one of the most important points why the internet becomes that important. I do not know how to make a presentation for school without information or pictures from the web. Wikis are also good sources for information, particularly compartment knowledge.
Another important point is online banking and online shopping. Online banking is great for managing money easier or topping up your handy. Online shopping is faster and much more comfortable than running through a shopping mile. I often use these services because I am too lazy to go in the city and the selection is much bigger in the web.
I also often use youtube.com just for fun. For example to watch live videos from bands I like. Or just listen to music.
Chat and email services are also often in use. It is also really funny to chat with friends but you have to pay attention with it. Make sure that you really know with who you are writing. Emails are also useful to write persons messages. The advantage is that the acceptor must not sit in front of the computer to get it.
The internet can easy be used to do damage at computers with viruses or to bully people in chat rooms. I don not make the experience with bullying at my own but some friends of mine got trouble with this. But I had some trouble with viruses. That forced me to reset the hard drive. That was not funny and a lot of work.
Teacher’s last words
As a member of the generation before, my attitude towards the Internet is a slightly different one. When I was a child the German “Volkszählung” was carried out and many of my parents’ friends did not open the door for the ones who had to collect the data (For those starting to calculate and looking up Volkszählung at Wikipedia – I was born in the early 1970s). From today’s point of view it was not really important what they wanted to know, but it was a matter of principle not to make personal information available to others. Information like: How many persons live in this household?
Something remained. Sometimes I quit a certain page just because I have to leave my name and email address in order to get access. If the content does not seem that important I prefer to leave it that way. In other cases you get all the information you can think of. And even more – but think about who wrote it, why and if you can trust the source. Better double-check in any case.
As well the term “friendship” underwent a profound change. When I look at pages where more than a hundred “friends” gather, I become distrustful if anyone ever asked himself what friendship actually means to him. Friendship you have to give away in advance in order to get to know each other better. Sounds rather odd to me, preferring it the other way round.
“Anonymity” is another issue that can be scrutinized a little bit closer. Of course you might feel safe remaining anonymous, but anyone around you does the same. Do you really know who you are talking to? Who you learned to trust and tell quite a lot? For me it is even difficult in real life to assess someone. Gut feeling, body language and precise observation help. But at least two of the three last factors are missing on the Internet. The highest social skill, so people say, is to lie. I wonder if there is any other place in the world where cheating, lying and betraying have such a high significance as in the digital world. You have all the possibilities. This holds true for the beneficial ones as well as for the rather gloomy ones. The Internet to me is a mirror of mankind’s innermost features – in contrast to everyday life just without the social filter.
In any case: Trust your common sense, act reasonable (As the Internet does neither forgive nor forget – look at www.archive.org…) and enjoy the diversity that is offered to you every day of your life. Please do not help to make this quote come true:
